September 30, 1970 A striking teamster fired at a truck hauling 20 tons of dynamite along I-44 and the resulting explosion broke windows in Springfield, 12 mi...les away. The blast created a 30-foot deep 50-foot wide crater on the interstate. The driver was killed instantly. Teamsters had gone on strike against the company that owned the vehicle a couple of weeks earlier. Is this what we are coming to? We spend months in lockdown not being able to enjoy our normal things, us truckers going into the hot spots supplying the countr...y with essentials . We haven't been able to enjoy a good meal sit down and converse with each other over truck stop food and being taken advantage of by brokers putting food on your tables medication in your hospitals gas in your cars formula for you children toilet paper to wipe your fuckin ass all while trying to keep our lights on and take care of our families? Now we cant get on roads take highway's to preform our jobs? To see our families? To keep people supplied? We now have been forced off roads , we fear where we go where we sleep where we use the restroom? And now we have to make the decision of hide at home, or take the risk? Now what ? We have to choose to take someone's life with the possibility of imprisonment because some people (all race not just 1) fell its a good idea to be on the roads? Or run the possibly of not living another day to spend with our family? I DO NOT WISH HARM OR ILLWILL towards ANYONE i repeat ANYONE we all want to go home and enjoy our lifes and families. Dont force me to choose your life or mine!!!! Dont force me to live with that on my conscious. I hope everyone i know and everyone that follows me stays safe, makes the right choices, and can make it home to there loved ones to laugh, smile,hug,kiss, and enjoy another day regardless if your a trucker, office personnel, police, hospital, emt, or protester.
