Open to K-12th grade students- join us for our first Spring SPIN Club- Dining with Cobb 4-H! This SPIN Club will meet on Mondays in March at 5:30pm via Zoom with a focus on healthy living and cooking. This is a kit based activity club that includes all necessary items for the club with the exception of perishable items. Club registration cost is $25 which includes the activity kit. We hope that you can join us! Call the Cobb County Extension Office at 770-528-4070 to register your child by paying with a Visa/MasterCard/Discover Card. Limited to the first 30 to pay and register!

Not only is gardening therapeutic, but many of the plants offered will get your yard ready for spring by adding color and vibrancy to brighten your days. 2021 is a brand new year! Keep Cobb Beautiful is offering a chance for residents to recycle their live Christmas trees for free after they are done for the season. This year's Bring One ...for the Chipper event lasts from Christmas Day through Jan. 9 at sites throughout the county. Recycling trees creates mulch, fuel, wildlife habitats and other useful materials. Flocked trees are not accepted as they are harmful to wildlife. All decorations, mesh, lights, stands and strings must be removed before they are dropped off. Live trees will be accepted at the following Home Depot locations: 3355 Cobb Parkway, Acworth 1200 East-West Connector, Austell 2350 Dallas Highway, Marietta 4101 Roswell Road NE, Marietta 449 Roberts Court NW, Kennesaw 3605 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta 1655 Shiloh Road, Kennesaw 1062 Richard Sailors Parkway, Powder Springs Trees will also be accepted at the following parks: Fullers Park (Lot Down Street), 3499 Robinson Road, Marietta Lions Park, 620 Lions Club Drive, Mableton Free saplings available at the above locations 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 9 while supplies last.
