UGA T-GSPA Litter Cleanup on Earth Day

Don't forget! 5:30 on Monday April 23rd, we will be picking up litter on Baldwin Drive for Earth Day. Meet at the corner of Baldwin Dr. and Rainwater Rd.

The Tifton Grad Student and Post Docs Association is planning a day trip. If you are interested, please respond with your preferred date and destination: Possible dates, these are all Saturdays, but if Sundays work better, let us know: April 7 April 21... May 5 Possible destinations, all of these are less than 2 hours’ drive away: Providence Canyon State Park, near Lumpkin, GA (Georgia’s ‘Little Grand Canyon’) http://gastateparks.org/ProvidenceCanyon Kolomoki Mounds Historic Park, near Blakely, GA (Native American mounds and some hiking trails) http://gastateparks.org/KolomokiMounds FDR State Park and the Little White House, Warm Springs, GA (President F.D. Roosevelt’s vacation home in Georgia) http://gastateparks.org/FDRoosevelt http://gastateparks.org/LittleWhiteHouse Andersonville National Historic Site (Civil War Prison Camp) and National Prisoner of War Museum, Andersonville, GA (If you don’t know about the American Civil War, this is a great opportunity to learn some history.) http://www.nps.gov/ande/index.htm Florida Caverns State Park, Marianna, FL (Cave tours are $8) http://www.floridastateparks.org/floridacaverns/default.cfm Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park, near Tallahassee, FL (Excellent wildlife viewing from the boat tour $8, including manatees.) http://www.floridastateparks.org/wakullasprings/default.cfm There are many state parks in the Florida panhandle; we could possibly combine trips and visit two parks in one day.
