Switching gears a little today with our summer fundraiser: supportful.com/reachoutforoutreach. For most of our fundraiser, we've been focusing on preparing CCF for new ways to digitally reach out to students as our every day world changes. However, we also are raising money this summer for an outreach program that CCF has been doing for over 10 years. We serve a FREE meal to students every single Monday on campus during the school year. It's a GREAT way to reach a TON of UGA... students and remind them that no matter who they are or what they've done, God loves them and we do too! Here's a quick note about our on-campus meal, Fat Mondays, from rising Junior, Alayna. Fat Mondays is the way God decided to place me at CCF. The free food aspect is nice, but my favorite part is that there are people standing around that will talk to a stranger, ask how their day is going and truly want to know. Any other time someone gets me to stop on campus, they only want to talk to me long enough for me to sign up for something, but Fat Mondays doesn’t do that. Everyone actually cares about the people that come through the line, and that’s my favorite part. As we have passed the half-way mark for our fundraiser (THANK YOU!) we wanted to pause and focus on this aspect of CCF's outreach. Fat Mondays takes a lot of money to happen, but this summer we're talking all about just "do what you can." $1 will cover a meal for a student for one week. That's it. If you can "do" $10, that's 10 MEALS that students can get for free. $200 will cover a whole program meal cost. We have a big ask today. supportful.com/reachoutforoutreach. We know that this summer, finances are weird, different, and uncertain; that's why we labeled this fundraiser a "Do What You Can" kind of fundraiser. However, we do know that some of us have been blessed and are in a fine place. With that in mind, we know that people like to give towards big, fun things! So, this weekend, we're trying to get ALL 3 iPADS THAT WE NEED COVERED. ... Y'all, I promise I'm not just saying this because I'm an Apple guy... But iPads are GREAT for CCF. We use them at our welcome corner to get info from new students. We use them to record videos and have Zoom calls. In fact, we can even EDIT videos on iPads. Another big job for the iPads will be helping us with live streaming. With the digital sound board that is in our Catalogue, we will be able to run sound remotely from our iPads so we can quickly change things on the fly! The price of each iPad is $350 and we need 3 of them, which is a total of $1050. I know that's a lot. If that's more than you can do, feel free to just give this post a "share"! One of those products that I wanted to feature today is a at-home light rig! These fun things make at home videos look SO much better. Plus, don't we all want Ang...ela to look like a Tik Tok star? We need one of these for each of our 4 staff members. We premiered our 2nd episode of Digital summer Dinner and a Message today, and lighting like this will help videos like that look even better! They're $30 each, so we just need 4 people to donate $30, or one person to donate $120! If that's something you can do, we'd appreciate it!
