60 at 60 Honoree: Arica Barfield Arica Barfield is an Administrator at the College of Pharmacy’s Southwest Georgia Clinical Campus. Known as a dear and valued colleague at the college, she shared: I like to consider my position unique, as it affords me the opportunity to not only work with UGA pharmacy students, but I also have the pleasure of interacting with medical students as well. Here on the UGA Southwest Georgia Clinical Campus, I have been given the title of Campus... Mom, so while doing my motherly duties of interacting with students, I aim to improve cultural awareness and diversity among the groups. I also volunteer with my church and other community groups. Through volunteering with various community groups, it has allowed me to help advocate for health equity in our underserved population. -- 60 at 60 honors CoP community members who have advocated for a more equitable and inclusive society. 60 at 60 Honoree: The Molly Blank Fund The Molly Blank Fund was established after Molly Blank’s passing in 2015 at the age of 99. The focus of support are on programs that address the interests Molly Blank supported in her lifetime, including at-risk youth, arts and culture, and Jewish causes emphasizing social justice and interfaith coalitions. In 2017, the Molly & Max Blank Student Enrichment Endowment was established, at the UGA College of Pharmacy, to help alleviate fina...ncial burdens that may impede pharmacy students in need from entering or completing their studies. The endowment places a particular emphasis on supporting students from underserved populations. Molly and her husband, Max, owned a successful pharmacy business in New York. In 2017 Arthur Blank expressed, My brother Michael and I are pleased to be able honor our mother’s legacy through support of the Pharmacy School at the University of Georgia from the Molly Blank Fund. It is very appropriate that this endowment is named for our father and mother, as they were both deeply engaged in the pharmacy business. Our parents would have been gratified to support students who face financial challenges as they endeavor to be pharmacists. -- 60 at 60 honors CoP community members who have advocated for a more equitable and inclusive society.
