Artist talk today! 12:30pm HUM203 Mary Bates Neubauer Gallery reception to follow 1:30-3pm

The new exhibition in Bobick Gallery features the work of Mary Bates Neubauer and her collaborators (Weiler, and Nolz) who combined a wide variety of skill sets to undertake an extensive project involving visual and tactile data visualization of an important indicator of global climate change: sea ice extent. The resulting collection of two and three dimensional tactile images stem from the team's ability to develop original coding, intensive information-bearing 3D modeling a...nd rendering, 3D printing, robotic tool-path stone milling, and ceramic shell metal casting. Come by the gallery to see this beautiful and stimulating exhibition that combines art, science and technology.
