A helpful script for explaining COVID-19 to children.

Southern Psychological and Behavioral Services 26.06.2021

SPBS will be open the week of March 30-April 3, 2020. As courtesy to our staff and the public, please notify us if you or your child is feeling ill so that we can reschedule for a later date. We will continue to have our lobby closed to sitting so as to ensure appropriate social distancing and provide for frequent cleaning of patient areas. Our staff will be happy to notify you when your therapist is ready for your session. Also, if you have a smartphone, tablet, or computer..., ask about our telemental health options. We have a very user friendly and secure app that connects you to your therapist via video. This is a very safe way for you to receive testing results, complete an initial intake, or have a therapy session. Most insurances are permitting telemental health services at this time due to COVID-19. Please call our office for more information. We hope you and your loved ones remain safe during this time. We will continue to provide updates to our patients and families over the course of this national emergency as needed. Sincerely, SPBS Management

SPBS will remain open for the week of March 23-March 27, 2020. We are continuing to thoroughly clean throughout the day and after every patient contact. For the upcoming week(s), we are asking that patients, family, and caregivers remain in their vehicles until session time and then all accompanying the patient continue to wait in their vehicles while the patient is in session. Please do not crowd together in the waiting room and keep 6 ft between you and others outside your... family unit. We will be happy to come to your vehicle to let you know when your therapist is available for your session. Our staff will remind patients and families of this new policy should it be necessary. At this time, this is the best way to ensure proper social distancing, which is recommended by the CDC and all other government agencies. Starting March 23, 2020, we will also be offering telehealth services for most patient services, including ABA and psychological services. This week our staff will be contacting those who missed or had to reschedule recent appointments due to COVID-19 issues to offer telehealth options. We will also be contacting those with upcoming appointments to provide scheduling options. We have an easy to use telehealth app that links to our EMR system and that meets HIPAA and all other state and federal regulations. This app can be used via smartphone, tablet, or computer. Our staff will be available via phone to help provide guidance on using this new technology so please do not hesitate to call us at 229-474-9800 during regular business hours. We know this is a stressful time for everyone in our community and country. We are here for you and your family and continue to pray for everyone’s safety. Please stay safe, limit your contact with those outside your immediate family units at home, and remain vigilant. We will get through this together. Sincerely, SPBS Management

At present time, SPBS will remain open for the week of March 16, 2020-March 20, 2020. Out of precaution for our staff and the families we serve, we ask that any client feeling ill to please cancel their session. We have arranged for additional cleaning measures to ensure all client areas remain sanitized throughout the day. However, we ask that clients/parents refrain from bringing extra family members if possible and that only those attending sessions remain in our waiting... room. You are also welcome to stay in your vehicle until your session time, and your therapist will come out for you. We will continue monitoring the situation and will keep all of our staff and clients informed of all future updates. We are praying for everyone’s physical and mental health throughout this time. Warm regards, SPBS Management
