Valwood varsity girls cross country are the GISA state runners up!!! The team ran hard and brought home the runner up trophy for the first time in Valwood history. Congratulations to the runners and coaches! Go Valiants! #valwoodathletics #valwoodvaliants #valwoodcrosscountry

In addition to winning the state title, the Valwood varsity volleyball team also brought home an armful of well-deserved region and state awards. Despite a pandemic, the team finished their season with 20 wins and only 5 losses. They secured their fifth consecutive region championship and seven players earned All-Region honors for the 2020 season. Seniors, Kennedy Kimbro and Makayla Yates. Juniors, Bailee Musgrove, Ellie Griner, Marleigh Carson and Aiyana Matchett. Freshman, Caylee Collins. Head coach, Val Gallahan, was named All-Region Coach. Following the 2020 GISA State Championship, Valwood School had 4 players earn All-State honors. Three time All-State, Kennedy Kimbro, two time All-State, Makayla Yates, Bailee Musgrove and Ellie Griner. The AAA Coach of the Year was Coach Val Gallahan.

The Valwood varsity softball team had another successful season full of team and individual awards. The team finished second place in the region and was seeded 4th in the state before being defeated by Bulloch Academy in the elite 8. Valwood tied Tiftarea for the most All-Region selections with five. Seniors, Darcee Brown (pitcher), and Gailey Shaw (3rd base), sophomores, Graceigh Booth (catcher), Ranada Vinson (shortstop), and Jacoba Foster (2nd base), received all-region recognition. Additionally, Darcee Brown and Graceigh Booth, earned a spot on the All-State team. To cap off the awards, Mary Clare Martin, Darcee Brown, and Gailey Shaw all earned a spot on the Senior All Star team. #valwoodathletics #valwoodsoftball #govaliants
