Today Dr. White joins our family at VCA Roswell! Dr. Katherine White is eager to start with us at VCA Roswell Animal Hospital this week. Dr. White spent the last eight years in Starkville, MIssissippi completing her bachelor of science in Biochemistry prior to attending veterinary school. She graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine this past May. Dr. White, her husband, Alex, and their dog, Haldir, are getting settled in midtown ATL. For fun, they love to explore Piedmont park, hike in the mountains, and cuddle up on the couch sipping on coffee and watching Friends.
Happy first appointment!!!

COVID-19 has impacted pet owners in more ways than ever imagined. In response, VCA Charities, in partnership with VCA Animal Hospitals, continues to find ways to increase its impact and enable access to veterinary care. Through recent grants to shelter partners as well as the new VCA Charities HOPE Funds programs, vulnerable pets are receiving care and pet owners are finding hope. Pets like Stella, who experienced labor complications, and whose owner recently found themselves... unemployed, received life-saving care and support for her five puppies. To show our commitment to #vcacharities, VCA will be matching client donations, dollar-for-dollar up to $300,000, now through December 31, 2020. Join us in supporting pets like Stella, by making a donation when you visit a VCA hospital, online at vcacharities.org or text HOPE to 213-325-1919. #vcacares #abetterworldforpets #proudlymars

History traces the origin of Chihuahuas all the way back to the Aztec Empire, where they were prized pets! These dogs are still beloved today and maintain their lapdog heritage.
Dear community. We hope everyone safely survived Hurricane Zeta as it came through our area. Due to heavy flooding and downed power lines and trees in the area of our hospital, but we are still here for you! As always, we will continue to update our Facebook page with planned opening times, so please be sure to follow us here. Please remember that should you need your pet’s health history and vaccine records while we are unavailable, they can be viewed on your myVCA app. We continue to hope everyone remains safe, and know our community will get through this together.
No matter the size, the poodle is known for being a fantastic companion.
We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets
The Golden Retriever's thick coat is meant to protect him during water retrieval!
Today is Global Cat Day, a special occasion devoted to unowned, free-roaming community cats. These cats often get a bad rap but it’s important to understand that these cats aren’t so different from our beloved pets. As a matter of fact, many are living on the streets as a result of being abandoned by their families. We've included some tips to help manage and care for the community cats in your neighborhood. Helping these cats starts by being a responsible guardian! Spay/n...euter your own cat and keep them indoors. * In just seven years, a single pair of cats and their offspring could produce a staggering total of 420,000 kittens! #VCApets
