February Food Drive! VFW Post 5255 Gwinnett and Auxiliary are hosting a food drive to benefit the The Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry, Inc.! We have... boxes for all non-perishable food items in the Bingo Hall and Canteen and will have a jar for monetary donations at the Canteen! Don’t forget we are open for Bingo 4 nights a week!

Brigadier General Chuck Yeager.. Joined the USAAF in 1941 and was an Aircraft mechanic. In 1942 he entered the enlisted pilot training program.. He went on to become an Ace with 11.5 arial victories and later a Test Pilot. He's most famous for breaking the speed of sound in the Bell X-1 in 1947.

Today in 1941, carrier-based Japanese aircraft staged a surprise attack on the U.S. fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The next day, the United States officially en...tered World War II. The only aircraft in our collection that survived Pearl Harbor is the Sikorsky JRS-1. The JRS-1 is one of only three airplanes still in existence that were at Pearl Harbor during the attack.
