Comrades, I learned a lot this weekend at Department Convention, but it opened my eyes up more that we really need to step up to the plate and to remember that our VETERANS should come first over anything and help them in any way we can and also we need to step up more and help community and show our community what the VFW is all about. This year as your 2021-2022 Sr. Vice Commander starting in July I will be setting up membership recruiting booths through out our county ...for each month, something that we haven't done for a few years. I will be working with our local businesses to allow us to set up booths. My goal for this year is to be the first Post in our District and Dept. to reach over 105 %. I hope you all will support me on this mission I have for our post, I already have the support from our Post Commander Benjamin Atkinson. Thank You Dave Worthen Sr. Vice Commander

State Commander Willis is asking that you continue to follow all the CDC guidelines and Governor Kemp's Executive Order. The coronavirus is running rapidly through the population. Georgia is currently the fourth worst state with the spread of the virus in the nation. District Commanders, posts that are currently having BINGO, dances, open canteens, and other events with crowds, please make sure posts follow all local and state guidelines as it relates to masks, social dista...ncing, hand washing stations, etc. Since the beginning of the year we have had many comrades and auxiliary members contract the coronavirus. Many have pulled through, but we have lost some of our comrades and auxiliary members due to this virus. Commander Willis does not want you to let your guard down. Once the vaccine becomes available in your area, please consider taking the shot as soon as possible. Continue doing our VFW mission of taking care of our veterans and their families. Do your best in a responsible and safe way. We will get through this together. Let's take care of each other and we will be successful. Please keep the state headquarters informed of any cases that occur in the posts. Respectfully, Charles A. Tony Dobbins State Adjutant Department of Georgia, VFW 478.474.3737 Office
