Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to our first meeting of the semester! Here's a quick recap if you weren't able to make it today. Each semester we make 5 - 7 games, of any genre or style (as long as the scope is doable). The groups meet at other times during the week to work on their games. These games are created, developed, and led by students! And at the end of the semester we have a campus demo where we show off our games. VGDev is a great place to learn. Projec...t leads and other experienced members and more than happy to help you learn how to use Unity, code, make art, etc. If you come to one of our Friday meetings you'll be able to check out the games we're working on this semester and if any of them interest you talk to the project lead about getting involved. We also have a discord, and if you weren't able to join today the link will be available at the end of the powerpoint at each meeting. Next week we'll be doing updates on the 3 games pitched today and after the meeting (around 6ish) there will be a Unity Tutorial for anyone interested in learning.

Heeeeeeey VGDev, check it out! We've got a guest talk this week!! Titled "What the Heck is UX?" presented by Sarah Massagee from Tripwire Interactive, and Stephanie Chergi from Games That Work. It'll be Friday, October 27 in Klaus 1447 after weekly project updates, so please be sure to stick around--and encourage your friends to come too ;)! "UX, short for User Experience Design, has become a buzzword lately, but what does it actually mean? It's often associated with UI, but user experience goes beyond the interface. Join us as we discuss what UX is, how it applies to game design, and how your own projects can benefit through UX research and testing."
