Are your feet winter ready? Less is More Too many socks can mean a tight squeeze that ultimately cuts off circulation to your feet. In order to keep your feet warm and dry, you need socks that are breathable, moisture-wicking and thin or medium-thick. Opt for wool socks. Wear Appropriate Shoes... Your shoes provide the outer layer of protection against moisture and play a huge role in how your feet maintain (or don’t maintain) warmth. This means you should wear breathable, waterproof boots that allow your feet perspiration to escape. Stay Active If you start to feel the cold creeping into your toes, take a walk, go for a run or do jumping jacks! It’s amazing how physical activity creates body heat and increases warm blood flow to your extremities. Dry Between Wears Dry your boots out every night and start the day right. Even though you don’t realize it, moisture from your feet builds up in liners even after short activity. Once your boots are wet they won’t insulate as well.
