Remembering our Founder, Sarah Scott, today by sharing a post from her daughter, Elaine Davis... June 6, 2010 is a day I will never forget! I was getting dressed to go be with my Mama at the nursing home. I knew her time on earth was growing short. I got a call to tell me that she had passed away. I quickly left to get to her side. When I walked into her room, her face was glowing! I knew that she had just seen Jesus! The last words she said to me two days before her d...eath were "I love you!" I will always treasure those words. As I sat with her and waited for the funeral home to come, I was sad but so thankful that she had been my Mama. She was an amazing person. Nothing could stop her from meeting a goal. She became blind in her forties but kept working toward a goal of establishing an agency to assist people with blindness and low vision. In 1983 she did it! Today Vision Rehabilitation Services is going strong after 30+ years. She would be so proud of the staff and the work they do. About a month before she died, she asked about the agency. I told her she left it in good hands. She smiled! I love you, Mama! I will see you again one day! See more

It is the mission of the Georgia Lions' Camp to provide personal growth experiences to children, teens, and adults living with visual impairments through the use of recreation, education, socialization and rehabilitation in an outdoor setting. Share this with anyone you know who may like to attend the annual camp this year!!

Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia (VRS) is honored to share that we have received a grant award of $2,200 from the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia. These funds will be used to help cover training expenses for individuals living with blindness, low vision, or vision impairments that can not be corrected. Unfortunately, this type of rehabilitation is not covered by insurance so VRS can utilize this grant to ensure our programs continue and to meet increased demand.
There are only hours left for #GivingTuesday...have you donated yet? Together we can support those who need us! Donations to VRS are 100% tax deductible since we are a 501(c)(3). We were founded in 1983 to serve those living with vision loss that requires training and techniques for living an independent & productive life. Please donate today to support these efforts.
