Background information about Probate Judge Calvin A. Bennett ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Born May 29, 1947 in Millwood, GA to Williford & Inez Bennett. Calvin graduated from Manor High School in 1965. He served 4 years in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and attended Ware Technical School in Drafting until September 1972. Calvin was hired as a Communications Officer with the Georgia State Patrol where he worked as a ...Radio Communications Officer until 1980. During this time he attended South Georgia College in Douglas and received his associates degree in Criminal Justice. When Mr. Bennett was promoted to trooper, he attended the 54th Trooper School and was stationed in Brunswick for 2 years. In 1982 Calvin was transferred to Waycross and served as a trooper until March of 2002 when he retired at the rank of Master Trooper. In July 2002, he started working as Safety Director with Thom’s Transport in Blackshear, GA, where he worked until October 2004 when he resigned to run for Probate Judge. Calvin is a CERTIFIED PROBATE JUDGE.
