Wednesday, November 11th Washington County Regional Medical Center will be sponsoring a Drive-Thru Veteran’s Lunch from 11am-1pm. During this pandemic, many of our community functions and gatherings have been canceled to help Slow the Spread; however, thankfully this is one event that we can still participate and show our local veterans our appreciation for their patriotism. Spread the word around as you wear your red, white, and blue to help us celebrate Veterans Day. All local Veterans will be served by WCRMC finest, just present your Veterans card.

A note of thanks! Daddy’s transfer from Macon to the WCRMC Swing Bed Unit, and later the Extended Care Facility, was a blessing in so many ways. In Macon, he was a stranger and just another resident. No one knew what a God-fearing man he was. No one knew the tremendous impact he has made on SOOOOO many family and friends. No one knew the vast amount of wisdom he had. But at the WCRMC, he was surrounded by people who knew him, loved him and respected him for the giant th...at he is!!!This made it a little easier on us to accept him being away from home as he regained his strength. Because of this, it was in my heart to express how grateful we are to the staff at the WCRMC Swing Bed Unit and ECF, who were very instrumental in this challenging experience. Perhaps you were involved in his admission process or you were his nurse or washed his clothes. Maybe you just came by on your break to let him see a familiar face. Or maybe you assisted him with opening his food, helped him find a game on tv, took care of him or dialed his phone for him. Perhaps you came by just to encourage him or maybe you answered the tons of questions I had. Or maybe you played a part in making his 90th birthday be as special as possible with him being away from home. Perhaps you just came by to hear him crack jokes because you needed a good laugh. Whatever role you have played over the past few months, we thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts! May God bless you for being a blessing to others! *Please share.
