NOTICE! Rates are going up! I just learned yesterday from Mutual of Omaha, who by far has the most competitive rates for traditional LTC products, that they are raising rates significantly on September 1st. To preserve the lower rates, any new applications must be received by the end of August. I suspect this is due primarily to the persistent low interest rate environment. If you or anyone you know have been considering long term care insurance, now is the time to try and make that happen. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Interesting article! I've been thinking what he is saying for some time now. Is New York City Dead for good? This may apply to other major cities as well. https://www.linkedin.com//nyc-dead-forever-heres-why-james

Covid-19 quickly changed the world. For many, this medical crisis has also highlighted our mortality. I pray you and yours are safe. I realize this period will be a financial struggle for some and not so much for others. Either way, now may be the right opportunity to review your current life, disability or long term care insurance plans. There may be tools available to temporarily suspend your premiums. New products are more affordable than ever and have features not available on older policies. This crisis has also changed the life insurance industry in record time. In order to adapt, companies are waiving exams for new applications and have rapidly moved to online models. Thus, now could also be the right time to consider adding protection for your loved ones. Either way, I'm here and would love to talk to you.

Have Our Rose Covered Glasses Been Shattered? Wow! What a difference a month makes? In February the financial markets were soaring, and the inflation, employment and other financial indicators all looked rosy. Covid-19, for most of us, has forever shattered our rose covered glasses and replaced them with a microscope. More specifically, as it rocks our financial world, it is reminding us how fragile life really is. If you are reading this, you know that I’m in the life insu...rance business. Yes, I get it, no one ever wants to discuss dying or the financial chaos associated with death. But this crisis has abruptly thrust the fragility of life in our faces. It’s estimated that there’s about a 3% chance of dying from Covid-19, however, there’s actually a 100% chance that each of us will eventually succumb to something. The only unanswered question, is when? My mission in writing this is not to say, call me right now and let’s get you insured before you are a victim. Instead, my intention is to remind you that this stuff is real and maybe it’s a good time to get things in order. Are your wills up to date? Are your beneficiaries current? Do you have enough life, disability and long term care insurance? Do you have the old kind or new kind of insurance? (What’s the difference? Call me.) Now is the time to consider these questions as we sure are going to have a lot of it on our hands. I’m available to help you review what you have and identify changes you may need to make. As much as I enjoy meeting in person, I’ve also got the ability to do it all remotely. Please feel free to reach out to me during this difficult time for answers to your insurance related questions. I look forward to serving you.

This is very interesting real time data on the Corona Virus. It's most interesting that the death rates in the US and other western countries seems to be significantly lower than in China. Given that the flu kills thousands in the USA every year, I think we can be cautiously optimistic that this shall pass.

So, almost every work day I wake up and watch the morning financial news and without fail there is an advertisement with Ken Fisher, of Fisher investments talking about how horrible annuities are and sharing what I believe to be half truths about them. Like all products, there are good ones and not so good ones. I view annuities only as a financial tool in my bag of many tools. When they are appropriate, I search to find what I truly hope is the right choice for my clients. I've also felt that Mr. Fisher's opinion, was due mostly to his ignorance and bias towards his way of doing things. Both of which, in my humble opinion show a lack of professionalism and character. Well, he has now confirmed my suspicions with some pretty poor judgement. Please see the attached article. https://www.washingtonpost.com//investor-who-made-offensi/
