When HELP Can't Wait

We're still DELIVERING supplies to our Nursing Homes -- no word yet on when we will be allowed to go inside again. We're hoping things will open up more as we go into 2021 -- but until then, deliveries will continue - we can drop them at the door and the Activity Directors get them to the residents in need. Just think of our Director Brandi as their best looking Delivery Guy!!

We received a $500 donation from a loyal donor in REMEMBRANCE of Henry Sibert and for the great contribution he made for about 10 years, volunteering to share his beautiful Gospel songs with residents of all the area nursing homes. The giving of his heart and his love for the Lord, along with his God given Tenor voice had wide reaching effects that will be felt for years to come. WHCW has lost a great friend. When HELP Can't Wait lost an ANGEL this Christmas season. Henry Sibert (a professional Gospel singer) shown here singing to a group of residents in a Nursing Home - passed away from complications from COVID. Henry had been sharing his beautiful Voice with our residents as a Volunteer - for at least the past 10 years. He was much loved and he had the voice of an Angel. I have seen bed-ridden patients asked to be rolled into the hallways so that they could hear him better. ...He was always ready to help a friend in need and everyone loved him. His smile lit up a room and we know that he is in a better place - but he will be missed by so many. He loved visiting the many Nursing Homes in the area and entertaining them with his voice and praying with them when they requested. Henry loved the Lord and we loved him. Our hard working Staff and Volunteers have finished yet another order for Christmas gifts from one Nursing Home. They are filling orders of this size daily -- I personally love the beautiful bags that were donated and that we purchased - I think the residents will love them too -- they just say Christmas!! We could not do this without the help of a loving community of donors! Thank you one and all!~ Merry Christmas to your families and please stay SAFE!

SANTA has other helpers than Rudolph to help deliver all the gifts. Activity Directors from several Nursing Homes are picking up gifts for their residents who otherwise would go without a Christmas. A group of ladies with Augusta University Hospital (40) decided instead of buying gifts for each other, each one packed a bag for a resident and delivered them ready to gift, beautiful bag and all. Other loyal annual donors brought items for the bags, some brought bags already pac...ked with beautiful items and some sent checks to help. We at WHCW are blessed with the help of a generous Augusta community that in our 13th year of our Gift Giving to needy seniors at Christmas - they haven't let us down - even in the middle of a Pandemic, their giving hearts are alive and well. First picture is of Items donated to a Nursing Home, Stuffed Reindeer, Stockings, etc. - but we still have plenty in our THRIFT STORE to sell - lots of cute Christmas decor, stockings, candles, etc. all at low, low prices -if you need some last minute decor items - shop with us and all proceeds benefit our nursing home residents. We have a great selection! Come see us - Monday thru Friday! We are also preparing Christmas bags for the homes - so not too late to drop off your donations for those!!
