While our posts have been few and far between, we’ve been busy TNRing Coweta’s community cats and saving the unadoptable feral felines from Coweta Animal Services. Thanks to your networking, WNP rescued and placed all the previously posted cats as Barn (and yard) Buddies. We’d like to extend our sincere gratitude to our most recent lifesavers: Cheree (Heflin, AL), Devyn, Kristi (Fayette Co.), Steven (Fulton Co.), Kristin, Abbey (Coweta Co.), and Danielle (Walton Co.). THANK YOU! The photos are a mash-up of the recent barn cat placements. We appreciate your support of our work!

Thank you Fayette Humane Society! It's time to learn this great info and spread the word about kittens! Keep in mind that Coweta County Animal Services (aka, The County Shelter) operates a tad different than what is listed in the Fayette Humane Society infographic provided; they will contact the Newnan Coweta Humane Society (NCHS) right away when young kittens are brought to their shelter because they don't have the staff to feed the babies. The BEST course of action is to ...keep the kittens with their mom and monitor. Don't wait too long to contact a local Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) volunteers to request help and they will coach you along the way. IT'S NO JOKE! Thank you very much for the 53 shares from our last post! We continue to be in need of 2-3 properties with acreage to save the cats shown here. If you are aware of a friend/colleague who may have expressed any interest in a pair of cats please urge him/her to reach out to us ASAP. These feral cats are up against stiff competition from the lost pets from the Newnan tornado and the start of kittens entering the shelter. We need to make our move now to save them. THANK YOU AS ALWAYS! https://www.whiskers-n-paws.org/h/working-cats-inquiry.html

Hello Community Cat Advocates! Giving Tuesday is upon us and with your help we can reach our goal of raising $2,500! A donation of $35 provides funding for ONE community cat to be spayed/neutered and receive two vaccines. Together we’re making a difference for cats in Coweta County! Let’s keep the Trap-Neuter-Return momentum going so we can help curb feline over-population. Your tax-deductible gift of any amount will be put to work right away! ... For those who enjoy delving into the numbers, Whiskers-n-Paws impact for 2020 as of today is: Total cats helped = 515. Of those, 324 were TNR’d, 101 were diverted from the streets and accepted into various rescues’ adoption programs; 79 feline lives were saved from local municipal shelters and placed into the Barn Buddies Program; 11 other cats had their vaccinations updated and were returned to the field. We simply can’t do our lifesaving work without you! Please donate, share our post, and spread the word about Trap-Neuter-Return as the most humane way to help stray and feral cats in our community. Thank you! https://www.whiskers-n-paws.org/ho/ways-to-give/donate.html

THE GOOD NEWS & BAD NEWS. The good news is thanks to YOU, WNP was able to rescue and place 24 feral cats into safe haven. The cats are now out of harms way at 11 properties across four counties. Many thanks to ALL the feral cat Lifesavers including, Mary Lou, Cathryn, Mandy, Erin, Lauren, Kayla from Coweta County; Kathie, Elizabeth, Gabby from Fayette County; Judy from Carroll County; and Cindy from Troup County. Despite this tremendous effort over the last two weeks, the b...ad news is that Coweta County Animal Services (CCAS) is at full capacity with cats. Local citizens trapped and delivered 15+ community cats at the end of last week which has now placed ALL the cats in their custody in jeopardy. PLEASE urge anyone you know who is interested in adding a sweet feline to their family to go to CCAS Monday and adopt. This will free up critical cage space. The address is 91 Selt Rd, Newnan, GA 30263. View the available cats at http://petharbor.com/ The County Shelter can only house 100 cats at one time. We can assure you that no-one at the shelter wants to kill a cat; however, this tax-supported facility is bound by the rules stipulated by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. As such, when they’re out of room, lives are lost. Once again, please SHARE this important message with others. THANK YOU for being on our team. LET’S DO THIS!
