Meet Producer/Director and this year’s #wifta #namicatlanta 2020 Powerhouse Angie Bones of @bobbcatfilms ! Bio below... PRODUCER, p.g.a, DIRECTOR/UPM, DGA... ANGI BONES started her career in the film/television industry while awaiting final testing for LAPD Police Academy. Angi took an unpaid position as an intern on the film Panther directed by Mario Van Peebles. Working on the film Panther shifted her journey in life from law enforcement to a successful career in film and television where she started as a Production Assistant, which lead to a successful career as Assistant Director, Producer and Director. To her credit, Angi hosts an impressive resume of music videos, commercials, award shows, live-to-tape, television series and more than 50 films; most notably: The Negotiator, Blade, Too Wong Foo, Eve's Bayou, Fighting Temptations, Men of Honor, Mother, The Antoine Fisher Story, Training Day, The Gospel, Warm Springs, Stroke of Genius and Crazy in Alabama. Angi served as Co-Producer and 2nd Assistant Director on 11 feature films, The Tyler Perry Show and over 240 combined episodes of the highly rated sitcoms Tyler Perry’s, Meet The Browns, and the NAACP Image Award winner Tyler Perry’s, House of Payne under director, writer, producer Tyler Perry. She also Co-Produced Trois-The Escort and Motives II for Will Packer and Rob Hardy of Rain Forest Films. Angi is a NAACP Image award nominee as Co-Producer for the television film Raising Izzie for UP TV and received a NACCP Image award win as Co-Producer for House of Payne. Angi served as the Co-Executive Producer for the highly rated docu-series Rickey Smiley For Real for TV One. She most recently Co-Produced the sequel future box office hit Meet the Blacks 2 directed by Deon Taylor, as well as Life Size 2, Same Time Next Christmas and The Thing About Harry for FreeForm. Angi is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America, Director’s Guild of America and Women in Film & Television Atlanta serving as board member. She is also a member of Reel Divas, a group that aims to promote female black writers, producers and directors and increase awareness of Atlanta as a production hub.

Meet this year’s featured TV and Film Powerhouse @ericasheltonkodish !! Bio Below... ... Erica Shelton Kodish is currently developing new television projects for NBC-Universal under a multi-year overall deal. Previously, Kodish served as the executive-producer/showrunner of the revamped fourth season of the BET drama series, Being Mary Jane, starring Gabrielle Union. Kodish’s other television credits include writer/co-executive producer on the critically acclaimed CBS series, The Good Wife, starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies. Her career as a TV writer began on the Jerry Bruckheimer forensic crime series, CSI: New York. Kodish, then, added the legal series Close to Home, Cold Case, HawthoRNe, Covert Affairs and FBI to her growing list of credits. Kodish’s passion for writing crystallized at Northwestern University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Communication. Upon graduation, Kodish landed a job at the PBS affiliate, WTTW Channel 11 - Chicago. Kodish, who was born in Detroit, Michigan, moved to Los Angeles when she was awarded the Courtney and Stephen J. Ross Fellowship at the University of Southern California. This fellowship, created by the former head of Time Warner and his widow, was designed to give deserving women an opportunity to pursue a degree in USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. After receiving her M.F.A. in Screenwriting, Kodish went on to become a recipient of the Fox Writers Initiative Fellowship. She has spoken at such institutions as Emory University, Spelman College, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, Goucher College and Phi Theta Kappa’s Honors Institute, FUSION: ACCESS LA, the Pan African Film Festival and was honored in The Root 100’s annual ranking of most influential African-American leaders. Kodish lives in Los Angeles with her husband Adam, and sons, Elliot and Levi. She is a member of the Writers Guild of America and Northwestern University’s Council of One Hundred.

Meet this year’s featured TV and Film Powerhouse @cswanson44! Bio below... A Detroit native, visionary storyteller and multiple award-winning filmmaker, Christine Swanson earned her MFA in Film from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, one of the nation’s top-ranked graduate film programs. CNN identified Christine as one of the most promising filmmakers to emerge from NYU’s graduate film program since Martin Scorsese, Ang Lee, Oliver Stone, and Spike Lee (Chr...istine’s NYU directing teacher). Christine also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, double majoring in Communications and Japanese. Christine has developed, written and/or directed movie projects for various companies including HBO Films, Magnolia Pictures, State Street Pictures, TV One, and Faith Filmworks, her own independent film company. Christine has written and/or directed numerous award- winning feature films, television episodes, commercials and short films in her career. Some of her award- winning titles include, Two Seasons (winner HBO Short Film Competition, Sundance selection), All About You (winner Audience Choice Award Chicago International Film Festival, Grand Jury Prize Hollywood Black Film Festival, Festival Award at the Pan African Film Festival, and the Film of the Year Award at the Santa Barbara African Heritage Film Series) starring Renee Elise Goldsberry, Terron Brooks, and Debbie Allen; All About Us (invited to the prestigious Heartland Film Festival, The Chicago International Film Festival, and the Cannes Festival du Film Panafricain) starring Boris Kodjoe, Ryan Bathe, and Ruby Dee; and Woman Thou Art Loosed (Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Blockbuster Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the American Black Film Festival) starring Kimberly Elise and Loretta Devine.
