WHEN YOU BUY AN ANIMAL....This could be said for LIVESTOCK too!!! FACTS for an informed decision. I saw this posted by someone else and I through it was a good explanation. PET STORE= You go and physically see the dog (but not the parents) and pay a fee. You receive a dog with a guarantee, a return policy* and a support system for future questions or problems... SHELTER= You go and physically see the dog (but not the parents) and pay a fee. You receive a dog with a return policy*, but not a guarantee or support system. "RESCUE" = you either 1. go and physically see the dog (but not the parents) and pay a fee. You receive a dog with a lease contract and a return policy*, but not a guarantee or a support system. ; or 2. you view on line a dog (but not the dog or the parents) and pay a fee and shipping. You recieve a dog with a lease contract and a return policy*, but not a guarantee or a support system. COMMERCIAL BREEDER= you either 1. Go and physically see the dog and the parents and pay a fee. You go and physically see the dog at a pet store (but not the parents) and pay a fee. It is the responsible thing these business's do to ensure the safe "replacement" of these pets, verses a person being forced to resell, rehome or dump them. Buyers are usually responsible for all shipping expenses of return.
Jax just being himself. He is enjoying this strange weather.
Love in the air at the FARM.
First thing in selection is proper structure; correct feet and legs, growth rate and of course... muscles. These will be the only ones I want to look at when I breed. I was told by a Wise Man. Your best genetics is in your young goats. I think that is the best way to look at it. If that is true then they must past pass THE TESTS at a very young age. That is only if YOU KNOW THE TRUE GENETICS & BLOOD LINE. .
