Do you know the ins and outs of your propane tank? If not, here are some key pieces you should know about that lie under your tank’s cover. First, is the tank shut-off valve. This can be closed to stop the flow of propane in the event of a leak. Second, is the regulator. This key piece controls the pressure of the propane that is coming out of your tank. The third key piece is the safety relief valve. This will pop open automatically if the pressure gets too high inside the tank. The final piece of your propane tank that is important to know about is the tank gauge. Your propane’s tank gauge will show you the percentage that your tank is full. P.S. If the pilot light goes out on one of your appliances, the first thing you can do is try re-lighting it. If that doesn’t work, it most likely means that your heater, logs, etc. will need to be blown out. It’s fun fact time again!! Did you know that propane has a boiling point of 44F? That might be hard to believe since most of us think of propane as a gas, but propane actually starts off as a very cold liquid. This very cold liquid is what is pumped in your tank when you call and request a refill. #25daysofpropane #wilhoitpropane
