I would like to take a moment among the chaos of social media to briefly say something. To every police officer, Chief, Sheriff, Deputy, corrections officer, fe...deral and state agents, state troopers, and everyone in between, thank you. The majority of you entered this profession for the right reasons. I am proud of you and I am grateful for you. I may not be able to wear a badge and stand among your ranks, but I will always stand beside you and do my best to help you fight the evils of the world while you protect the good. To every EMT and firefighter, thank you. You run into some of the most dangerous situations in existence just so you can help others. We are grateful. To every dispatcher, none of the above could fulfill their duties without each of you. You are the cornerstone of first response. Thank you. To every civilian who works among the above to support them and enable them to fulfill their duties, most of us have not forgotten you. Thank you. If it was not clear enough before, let me say again..... Thank you.

Please see attached graphic for specific locations. Damaging wind gusts is the primary hazard. Overview: A moist and unstable airmass will be in place as a cold front approaches the area. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front, with a few thunderstorms possibly becoming severe. Damaging wind gusts will be the primary hazard. Good morning, Bottom Line: Scattered storms will develop across the entire region today. The greatest threat for isolated severe storms will be west of the Fli...nt and Apalachicola Rivers. Damaging winds will be the main concern. Overview: An area of thunderstorms is expected to develop across southern AL/MS today, and spread east into the Tri-State region late this afternoon, through the evening hours. These storms will have the potential to produce isolated damaging straight line winds, and possibly even some large hail. The SPC has placed areas primarily west of the Flint and Apalachicola Rivers under a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorm development. Elsewhere, storms are expected to develop along the coast and move inland through the day. These storms will have a much lower potential to produce severe weather, but gusty winds in the strongest storms will certainly be possible - similar to most summertime afternoons.
