To our WWII Heritage Days family, we hope your Thanksgiving was a celebration for you and yours. As we all know 2020 marks the 75th Anniversary of Allied Victory in World War II. We were all disappointed that we could not give the occasion the focus it deserved. For WWII Heritage Days, it was our goal this year to salute the Greatest Generation by again hosting the largest gathering of World War II veterans in Georgia. All past WWII Heritage Days participants are invited ...to join a zoom meeting on Dec 8th so that we can share our plans and thoughts for 2021. The Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing is canceling plans for World War II Heritage Days on Sept. 12-13, 2020. This includes the Hangar Dance scheduled for Sept. 12. All ticket purchases will be refunded by Aug. 1.

WWII Heritage Days is very flattered to be considered a 10 Best Air Show Readers' Choice Award candidate. For 16 years we have hosted a 100% volunteer educational living history program with the goal of celebrating the 1940s and saluting the Greatest Generation. Over the years we have hosted hundreds of World War II veterans as our guests of honor. While our lineup includes historic World War II aircraft, we are not an air show. If you voted for us, thank you, but we encourage everyone to vote for an air show still planned for 2020 as they can use the exposure and support a 10 Best Reader' Choice Travel Award can bring.

Since 2003 the CAF Dixie Wing has hosted WWII Heritage Days. Over the years, we have made many friends who share our passion for celebrating the 1940s and saluting the Greatest Generation. As you all know, we have had to postpone our 2020 program to September 12-13 due to COVID-19. We are hopeful that the next few months will bring brighter days for all of us. In the meantime, please share a favorite photo and memory from past WWII Heritage Days and be sure to toast the Greatest Generation on the 75th Anniversary of VE Day on May 8th.
