TEAM WALKER / TEAM MACIE with Georgia's Own Walker & Macie "Hey Walker and Macie. I've about had it with my 17-year-old. He has gotten SO irresponsible with his cell phone. His mother and I graciously got him a phone years ago... because that's the thing parents are doing these days. Yes, he has an iPhone. As do all the kids he knows... get over it.... Anyway, he just broke his phone. AGAIN. This was his FIFTH phone. His first one was brand new as a gift, and I accidentally ran over it backing out of the driveway one day... 7 months after getting it. Oops. He thinks it fell out of his pocket at some point. Got him a new one after that. Since then... he has flushed one in the toilet, dropped one off of a balcony on spring break "by accident," tossed one into the lake "by accident" and whatever else. Each of these times, I've gotten him a USED iPhone. So it didn't cost me much, but by gosh... He's done it again. Dropped his iPhone... so he claims... the screen is shattered, not worth fixing the screen. Gotta get a new one. I'm so livid, I said he can wait and see if Santa brings him one because I'm not buying him another right now. This has gotten ridiculous. Of course my wife thinks he NEEDS a phone because he's 17 and if he doesn't have one "something bad could happen." I told her we need to teach him a lesson and this is how we're going to do it. The kid can wait. It's not about the money, I can buy him a phone. But it's about the carelessness. My wife sees them all as accidents. I just don't know. What do you guys think?
