#flashbackfriday gives me an opportunity to share how visiting my furry clients can be more than just a walk or feeding. This sweet senior boy, Buddy, was rescued from his mom several years ago after being a stray on the street. He was a fearful dog, but learn to trust and love his mom. Unfortunately, his mom was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago and in the last couple of months needed more assistance. The family called me to visit him 2-3 days to feed and let him get... some fresh air. Poor Buddy was still unsure of me, not knowing where his mom was. After several weeks of visits, it was obvious Buddy needed more than I could give him. After talking to the family, we decided to find a foster home for Buddy since we weren’t sure how long his mom would be separated from him. After reaching out to a few people, I was lucky enough to have the foster mom to one my own dogs offer to care for him. After a month of being in his foster home with a dog sibling to follow and learn from, Buddy no longer has accidents, he sleeps in the bed with them, roams and explores in the large yard, goes on car rides, and is just a happy boy! I share this because I am fortunate to be surrounded by kind hearted people, like Emma, and see how my business helps my clients in ways that many may not.
