Hey FBAs we approach the last 2 weeks of the official 2017 Tax season, I want to give a few reminds and tips: Reminders: **The 2017 Tax Season will officially end on Tuesday April 17, 2018 midnight. All tax return must be electronically sent by 12 am. All tax return being mailed must be post marked for Tuesday, April 17, 2018.... **The 2014 Tax season will officially EXPIRE on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at midnight!! If you haven’t filed your taxes for 2014 or needed to do an amendment and received any funds, you tax return must be electronically sent by 12 am on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. All tax return and amendments being mailed must be post marked for Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Is being reported that over $1 Billion has been unpaid to tax payers who hasn’t filed a 2014 tax return. **We are now doing EXTENSION for 2017 tax year. All extension must be electronically file by Tuesday, April 17, 2018 midnight to save you from being penalized for not filing. Please contact us at our office number 770-629-6801 to get your extension filed. If the Extension is filed and accepted, you will have until October 15, 2018 to file your 2017 Taxes. Tips ***The state of GA and potentially other state are doing the following to assist with slowing down ID theft: 1. Slow Processing your state taxes- Some can take up to 90 business days to process and fund. 2. Put your taxes on hold and send you a letter to do Verification- they just want to make sure you filed your taxes. 3. Put your taxes on hold and waiting for you to call them- they may need a prior year completed or something else 4. Take your refund and apply it to a past due debt with the state or with the federal. If your state taxes have not came in within 21 days, then one of the 4 things above is happening. ***The IRS also have been sending notices out for you to do verification on your taxes- If you don’t answer the verification questions correctly, you will have to make an appointment to go see them. ***The IRS is also auditing 2015 and 2016 Taxes right now. If you need assistance with your 2015 & 2016 tax audit, please feel to call us and set a consult- All consults are free. ****All Tax Preparers are usually busy trying to complete those taxes with issues, those drop- offs, prior year taxes and clients who are still trying to get theirs done- we do ask for your patience and ask that you don’t wait till the very last min to file and come with major attitude.
