Got the first piece of artwork for when we get a new house. A Phoenix hand-painted by a friend of mine, Caity Marie @bleedinggumslisa @alberolingarn The Phoenix is symbolic of rebirth, hope, renewal, progress, end of oppression, and eternity. It is no wonder that the beautiful bird has inspired many tales, poems, and even legends. Although most people believe that the origin of the phoenix is in Greece, it is a global symbol of rebirth.... Native Americans called the phoenix the thunderbird. Thunderbird was a powerful cross-cultural element of Native North American mythology.As in other cultural representations, the thunderbird of the Native Americans was also a large, red, and colorful bird. It had very strong winds and when the bird would flap and beat them, it was capable of making it rain and thunder. Thus, thunderbird played an important role in Native American rituals and traditions. Since it was associated with the weather, its feathers were used for healing, for magic, and to make it rain or grow crops as well. As the bird became symbolic of rain and the weather, the Native Americans also believed the phoenix bird meaning meant growth, abundance, and power.

Super excited about the workshop I just signed up for on using aromatherapy to cope with the effects of isolation and anxiety. I think in this day and age these will be skills that I can help many people with.

This is the beginning of my elderberry glycerite using the special gift of European elderberries that were given to me by an herbalist friend. This is 3 cups of the elderberries and about 11 cups of organic vegetable glycerin. Making something close to a 1:5 extract. What's nice about this is the glycerin will pull out the health and immune-supporting properties of the elderberry and make a sweet kind of syrup that even young kids love to take. I will now put this in my instant pot on the "keep warm" setting which will keep it between a 120 in a 130for 8 hours at a time. I will run this twice-a-day and let it do it's thing for about 3 days.
