On January 26, the Atlanta Festival Academy gathered our enthusiastic donors, teachers and students at FUMI launching the 2nd annual summer training camp! Three months later, along with rest of the country we refuse to succumb to the Covid-19 pandemic! The 2020 AFA will host an online Competition in June. Please help us by recommending it to your friends and students. #competition#atlantafestivalacademy#summercamp#
Although AFA’s main gathering has been cancelled for 2020, we’re still going forward with our new Competition! We’re moving it online, and so we encourage you to take a look at how this year’s competition will work!
With heavy hearts we have made the decision to cancel the main Atlanta Festival Academy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we were all truly looking forward to nine wonderful days of music making this July, we think the wisest and safest choice for everyone involved with the main Festival is to not gather this summer. We will reconfigure not cancel the two new components of Atlanta Festival Academy, the Atlanta Festival Junior Academy and the Atlanta Festival Competit...ion, and details about these changes can be found at AtlantaFestivalAcademy.org. We are already planning how to make the return of the big Atlanta Festival Academy in July 2021 an especially exceptional experience, so please keep up with us for updates. In the meantime, we hope that you all stay healthy, stay strong, and keep making your own music. Sincerely, Amy, Lin Wei, & William
All of us here at Atlanta Festival Academy are maintaining our optimism that the 2020 AFA will still occur in July. It is our sincere hope that the COVID-19 outbreak will be well behind all of us by then and that we can gather to make music and create friendships together. So for now our Festival is still scheduled, and we will continue to update this status as events unfold. Thank you all and please stay safe and healthy!
We’re so excited that Prof. Mauricio Fuks will be sharing his immense enthusiasm for teaching and knowledge about all things violin with AFA’s participants again this summer! A long-tenured professor of violin at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, Prof. Fuks’s accolades and accomplishments as performer, much sought-after pedagogue, and competition judge make quite the list! We encourage you to check out his full bio here: https://atlantafestivalacademy.org/mauricio-fuks/
