Lately, we are told to wash our hands All of the Time! Use soap. Sing a song. Repeat. Yet when we wash our hands, it's been for our physical health. Why not take a moment and wash your hands for your spiritual health? In Judaism, ritual washing takes two main forms. Tevilah () is a full body immersion in a mikvah, and netilat yadayim ( ) is the washing of the hands with a cup. While Tevilah is our specialty, in the times of Covid-19 it is not encouraged. Below is a special hand washing ceremony to practice in the safety and comfort of our own home. Take a few moments. Take a deep breath in. Release. Repeat. Set your kavanah (intention). Do you take this time for a moment of gratitude? Resilience? To seek comfort and strength?
