The AU Libraries celebrates #BlackHistoryMonth with a live viewing of the prerecorded interview between Thomas Weeks, Reference and Instruction Librarian, and Dr. Seretha Williams, Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of English and World Languages, on the topic of Afrofuturism. The viewing is Tuesday, February 23, at noon in the JSAC Ballroom. Box lunches, provided by the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement, will be available to the first fifty attendees for carry-out. Can't attend? The University Libraries Heritage Unit houses and preserves the Libraries’ manuscript collections. In celebration of Black History month, the finding aid for the Richmond County slave records (MSS 004) was highlighted in February of 2020. For Greenblatt Library, a finding aid for the Sydenstricker collection, a scrapbook of personal documents and photographs of the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen Nazi camp, was posted in February of 2020.
