The City of Augusta partnered with The Healthy Grandparents Program through Augusta University to adopt two local families in the community for the Christmas season. The Information Technology, Human Resources, Planning & Development and Procurement Departments provided children ranging from early childhood to young adult with their Santa wish lists. A special thank you to our teams who stepped up to make this Christmas special for these two families as well as our partners at Augusta University who work with all families in the Healthy Grandparents Program to assist with their needs. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16

It all started with a little challenge..and ended with the single largest coat donation! The City of Augusta made the single largest donation of coats to Child Enrichment, a local non-profit agency that assists the various needs of children in foster care and abuse situations in the community. Over the course of five weeks, the Information Technology Department challenged all city departments and elected officials to donate coats to meet the goal of 400 coats. At the end of the five week challenge, the City of Augusta collected over 417 coats that would be put to immediate use throughout the community.
