Calling all grad students: This Thursday, October 14, is the second meeting of the Grad Writing Circle sponsored by @auggradschool , @aug_libraries , and the Writing Center. Stop by from 5-6pm in Greenblatt Library rm. AB2103 to work on theses, capstones, dissertations, and manuscripts. We’ll set a SMART goal at the start of the hour and celebrate our progress at the end. A research librarian and the director of the WC will be available to answer questions.

What a great memory! AU alum Logan Eidson presenting at the International Writing Centers Association @iwca_writingcenters conference in Atlanta on this day in 2018. He presented on linguistic justice in writing centers. Logan also won a competitive travel grant and was honored at the awards ceremony.

In honor of Black History Month, the Writing Center will be featuring Black authors in February. Check back for features every Monday and Friday! Our third featured author is Zora Neale Hurston, author of classic novel *Their Eyes Were Watching God.* While this novel is well-known, Neale Hurston wrote many other works, including short stories, autobiography, non-fiction, and folk tales and oral histories.
