Wellroot Scholarship Program The Wellroot Family Services Scholarship Program recognizes students for their community service, academic performance, and demonstrated leadership and participation in school. Awards ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 will be granted for the 2021-2022 academic year. To apply, students must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United St...ates for the entire 2021-2022 academic year. For most awards, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent). In addition to the above criteria, some of the funds within this program give preference to those who are or have been in foster care. Application Portal is now open. Deadline for applying is December 14, 2020. To apply for Wellroot Scholarships please go to https://wellroot.org/scholarships/. Up to fifty-eight (58) awards ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 will be granted. Award amounts will vary based on the designated funds. Awards are limited to one award per student per year and are for undergraduate and graduate study only.

When we act early, we can prevent the use and misuse of drugs, like opioids, that can lead to substance use disorders. Prevention activities work to educate and support individuals, families, and communities and are critical for maintaining both individual and community health. Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), sometimes referred to ...as opioid abuse or dependence or opioid addiction, is a problematic pattern of opioid use that causes significant impairment or distress. OUD is a medical condition that can affect anyone regardless of race, gender, income level, or social class. Like many other medical conditions, there are evidence-based treatments that are available for OUD, but seeking treatment remains stigmatized. Stigma can be a major barrier to how well prevention and treatment programs can work to address the opioid crisis. See more
