Greetings!! A little over a year ago we launched our new children's programming initiative. The first program "Shout, Sing-Out" was a great success, and we thank you so much for joining us. In 2020 we converted to online and continued with a couple virtual Storytime programs; hopefully you heard about them and were able to attend. Just this week we got a great offer from our friends at The Alliance Theater!! They have produced a brand new animated short called "Sit-In". The p...lot follows three friends as they learn about the sit-ins of the Civil Rights era, and powerfully apply those lessons to issues theyand we allface today. We are able to bring you this unique live experience FREE OF CHARGE, thanks to support from PNC Bank. The program will also include an after-show art activity created by Alliance Theatre teaching artist Maya Lawrence. Recommended for all ages!! FCS Families: We are steadfast in our commitment to offer face-to-face instruction, for those families who have chosen it. We stay equally committed to the safe...ty of our students and staff. The plan for Fulton County Schools to receive students and offer face-to-face instruction, remains the course beginning Tuesday, Jan 19. In supporting this commitment, we are in constant consultation with public health officials and to date, we have received no recommendations to change that plan. District leadership continues monitoring the potential impact of community case numbers and managing our operations with a site-based strategy. The district recognizes the level of community spread is significant. However, as of our most recent report, the majority of our schools are reporting 2 or fewer cases. We will continue to move schools to remote learning on a case-by-case basis, as needed. Decisions are made on the basis of our ability to complete contact tracing, disinfect facilities and provide staffing at each school. Face-to-face instruction has already been delayed for one week to allow for our most vulnerable employees (those who met the Georgia Department of Public Health (GDPH) criteria for 1A+) to receive the vaccination if they chose. We are dedicated and are strongly advocating for all employees to have this opportunity as soon as possible. The community is facing difficult times, and many have strong feelings about the best course of action for our schools. We understand and appreciate the different opinions. We urge our entire community to continue to follow the recommendation of public health officials; wear a mask, maintain social distancing, wash your hands frequently, and remain home if you are sick or exhibit symptoms.

Good morning!! I have everyone is having a great start to their weekend! A quick reminder that there is Just a few more days to sign up!!! You have until November 9, 2020!! That’s this coming Monday! Virtual Business Meeting Convention will be held November 14, 2020 @9am!

Following the FCS Closing Matrix, we have met the criteria of a Level 2 at North Springs High School and in consultation with Fulton County Board of Health, we ...are switching to remote learning for Monday, Nov 9 and Tuesday, Nov 10 to allow for contact tracing. Individuals who will need to quarantine for longer will be notified directly. SAT tests scheduled at North Springs HS on Saturday, Nov 7 will continue. Facilities will be cleaned on Friday night. Protocols for entry, including temperature checks, will be conducted for those taking the test. We anticipate school resuming face-to-face instruction on Wednesday, Nov 11. Individuals who will need to quarantine for longer will be notified directly.

Just a reminder to Register!

Following the FCS Closing Matrix, we have met the criteria of a Level 2 at Milton High School and SL Lewis Elementary School, and in consultation with Fulton Co...unty Board of Health, we are keeping these schools in remote learning for an additional 48 hours to allow for contact tracing and to clean facilities. All other schools will be open on Monday as previously scheduled. Students and teachers at Milton HS and SL Lewis ES will be in remote learning on Monday, and Tuesday will be a remote Teacher Work day as previously planned for Election Day. We anticipate school reopening on Wednesday for face-to-face instruction. Individuals who will need to quarantine for longer will be notified directly.

Fulton County Schools will be moving to our Remote Learning Model on Thursday, October 29, 2020 due to inclement weather associated with Hurricane Zeta. Teacher...s and students will not report to school buildings but teaching and learning will continue online. Only essential personnel will report. Remaining staff will work virtually following the recently outlined November 3rd (Election Day) Reporting Protocol. All other activities and athletics for October 29, including the PSAT, will be rescheduled. See more

*Feedback Requested by GaDOE* The Georgia Department of Education is requesting feedback on the weight that Georgia Milestones End-of-Course tests should have on a student’s final grade for the 2020-2021 school year. On October 1, State Superintendent Richard Woods recommended to the State Board of Education that the Georgia Milestones End-of-Course percentage weight to be included in a student’s final grade be reduced from 20% to .01%. The SBOE did not approve this recommend...ation and proposed reducing the End-of-Course percentage weight from 20% to 10%. The proposal has been posted for public comment, with feedback being collected until November 16 through this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3TWWTMZ.
