DA Slater was honored to attend the Traffic Enforcement Network meeting in Reynolds. The Traffic Enforcement Network meetings are designed to enhance traffic enforcement activities through networking, training and legislation. The networks serve as a catalyst for traffic enforcement officers to voice their concerns and share ideas with their counterparts from other agencies in their region.

DA Slater attended the Columbus Chapter of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers' Annual Judicial Reception and intallation of officers tonight. It was a great event! Here are incoming and outgoing officers with Robin Frazer Clark, President of the State Bar of Georgia and Keynote Speaker for the event.

Today we celebrated Girl Scout Law Day at the government center. The ladies did a great job with the mock trial and asked great questions of the guest attorneys/law school students including DA Slater and 2 of the DA Summer Interns.

The Annual Employee Recognition Ceremonies of the Columbus Police Department honored CPD officers and staff for outstanding achievements. DA Slater and several DA staff members attended the ceremonies at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to show their support of our local law enforcement.

The Columbus Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Police Annual Peace Officers' Memorial Service was a sober remembering of the officers who have given their life in the line of duty and tribute to those who risk their lives every day for our safety. National Police Week is May 13-19. Please tie a blue ribbon on your car antenna in remembrance of all officers who have made the supreme sacrifice.

DA Slater was honored to attend A Celebration of Foster Parents as a part of National Foster Parent Appreciation Month.

DA Slater, Senior ADA's Wayne Jernigan and LaRae Moore attended the Dedication Ceremony for the new Marion County Middle High School. This state of the art facility is a tremendous accomplishment for the county. Congratulations to Marion County for a successful event and a new campus.
