Today the trainees of Echo Company 2/19 got the chance to put rounds down range. The Individual Weapons Qualification (IWQ) tested your trainees today and your loved ones did not disappoint. Improvements were made every iteration. Soldiers must hit 23 to 29 targets for a Marksman rating, 30 to 35 for Sharpshooter and 36 to 40 to qualify for Expert. Soldiers start in the standing position then go to the prone unsupported, then prone supported, kneeling supported and finally th...e standing supported position. Soldiers utilize a barricade and will have 8-10 second intervals to change magazine and positions. Parents, you all should be very proud.

On Saturday, the 13th of March, Echo Company transitioned from Red Phase to White Phase. The purpose of Red Phase is ‘soldierization’, to acculturate our Trainees and prepare them for their military careers. The purpose of White Phase is to develop individual Soldier skills. We at Echo Company commemorated the occasion with a Drill Competition with each Platoon demonstrating their ability to match, perform facing movements and perform general Drill and Ceremonies.

We are proud to announce that PVT Lyons was last week’s Trainee of the Week. PVT Lyons scored an impressive 595 out of a possible 600 points on his Army Combat Fitness test. His was the highest score in the Company. PVT Lyons embodies the spirit of #FindAWayOrMakeOne

War Eagle Family, The ongoing Global Epidemic has had dramatic, far-reaching effects that have severely impacted our Great Nation. Certainly, we feel those effects in the disruption of regular military operations. It is my sincere regret to inform you that our latest flight out of Fort Benning was delayed for roughly two weeks. This decision was not taken lightly. Leadership made a difficult call. They determined that due to the stress COVID-19 has put on the operations at... the receiving units that they would not be able to receive your Soldiers on the appointed date. I know that this is a bitter pill to swallow. You and your sons, husbands, brothers and loved ones are being asked to help bear the burden of a national epidemic response that may, at times, feel arbitrary and uncaring. I assure you that my leaders and I care deeply for the welfare of our nations newest generation of Soldiers. I encourage everyone to reach out to us with any concerns regarding the delay. To all parents of National Guard soldiers that just graduated: The day has finally come! Your soldiers have packed and are loading up on their buses. They are now in the process of returning to their state where they will begin their next chapter as a United States Army National Guard soldier. They have worked hard and will be an asset to their gaining unit and community.
