Although it is rare, men can get breast cancer.... - New lump in the breast - underarm or armpit. - Swelling of part of the breast. - Irritation of breast skin. - Nipple discharge other than breast milk, including blood. - Pain in any area of the breast. Breast Cancer Awareness month is about knowing how your breasts feel, doing monthly self-breast exams, and maintaining routine mammograms. - Women ages 40 to 44 should start getting annual mammograms. - Women 50 to 74 should get a mammogram once every two years. - Men starting at 35 years old should get a mammogram if they are a carrier of the BRACA1 gene.
