We have some exciting updates happening here at the Flint RiverQuarium! Thanks to the generosity of some loyal Flint RiverQuarium supporters, our Spring Run Creek alligator exhibit, as well the Skywater and Blue Hole viewing windows, are undergoing facelifts. Aquatic Solutions from Campbell, California, has buffed and polished the viewing windows and is currently completing a major renovation on the alligator exhibit to repair leaks and improve the exhibit for both visitors a...nd resident gators. The alligator exhibit was drained, and the alligators were temporarily moved behind the scenes so that the entire exhibit could be completely dismantled. This process required a crane to lift the 4,000-pound and 8,000-pound acrylic windows up and over the Flint RiverQuarium walls. The acrylic was then buffed, put back in place via crane, and resealed. Once the renovation is complete, the exhibit will be refilled with water and the alligators will be re-introduced to their home. We look forward to unveiling these changes to our guests very soonwatch for updates! See more
