LINDA DANIELS IS HANGING UP HER CLIPBOARD After 12 years of herding the Friends of Sapelo volunteers, Linda Daniels is stepping down as Volunteer Coordinator. Linda joined Friends of Sapelo as a volunteer in 2001 and moved into the role of Volunteer Coordinator in 2008. Sapelo Island and the Friends have been Linda’s passion, and everyone involved with the island knew, if you needed something done, call Linda. No project was too big or too small. Linda always knew how to en...ergize the volunteers to get the job done. Although she is stepping down from her role, she and her husband JD will continue to be involved in Friends of Sapelo. She will be missed as our leader! In this time of social distancing, plans for a proper send-off are on hold but the advisory board is organizing a parting gift for Linda and JD. If you would like to contribute, please send a check to Friends of Sapelo, 1766 Landing Rd., Darien GA 31305. No one can fill Linda’s shoes, but FOS recognizes we need a new shepherd. SINERR annually encourages friends and followers to participate in EARTH HOUR, a symbolic switching off of lights in support of the environment.
