All you need today is a pencil, a piece of paper, and the view out your window - we're doing Blind Contour Drawing! If you can't make it outside, you can also try drawing your favorite pair of shoes, a potted plant, or anything else you find around the house that looks interesting. You can even draw your pet (if they sit still) or your other hand. What else can you find to draw? We're in week 6 of Artsicles (delicious bite-sized art activities delivered to your screen) to ...keep you having fun with art using material you might just have around the house. Look for a new Artsicle every Tuesday and Thursday, and be sure to post photos of your creations at #Artsicles and #fultonpublicart. Head to bit.ly/Artsicles to download the instructions and start making art! #FultonCounty #fultonpublicart #artcommunity #artsatl #weloveatl #atlantacreatives #arteducation #fultonarts #summer2020 #atlantaartists #summerart #artproject #artathome @ Fulton County Public Art Program

With crayons and watercolor you can create a really unique piece of art! Today we're making Crayon Resist Art. The wax of the crayons resists the water making the watercolors bead on the surface. It's a wonderful effect! Get your watercolors and paper, we're painting Watercolor Flowers in a Vase today! If you don't have watercolors, this can be done with whatever you have on hand: markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc. Don't worry about making it perfect, let the watercolors run together and a little drippiness makes it more fun and creative! We're in week 5 of Artsicles (delicious bite-sized art activities delivered to your screen) to keep you having fun with art using material you might... just have around the house. Today we're making Curled Paper Designs (also called Quilling). This is a simple intro, no special tools are needed, just paper (you cut into strips), a pencil for larger curls, a toothpick for tighter curls, and glue. You can make abstract designs or arrange your curled paper into familiar shapes like flowers, hearts, landscapes, or anything else you imagine!
