Now you know the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Your body will give you signs indicating trouble as well. Things to look out for are: ~ Long Pre-peak Phase and Va...riable Post Peak Phase: If you are charting with The Creighton Model System, then you'll know your Post-Peak Phase (the time between ovulation and the beginning of your next period) which should be constant every month. If it changes every month, or if you have long, irregular cycles, think thyroid dysfunction. ~ Low temps: If you take your temperatures several times a day, and then average them, your temperatures will consistently be low. Look for a temperature below 97.5 prior to ovulation, or below 98.2 after ovulation. ~ Orthostatic Hypotension: Take your blood pressure while lying down, then again 3 minutes after standing up. If your blood pressure drops 20 mmHg systolic (the top number), or 10 mmHg diastolic (the bottom number), then you have orthostatic hypotension ~ Bradycardia: Take your pulse several times a day. The average should be over 60 beats per minute at rest. If you run in the 40s-60s, you may have hypothyroidism. Of course, low heart rate is also a sign of health in extreme athletes, so other signs and symptoms should be taken into account. ~ PVCs: Premature Ventricular Contractions. Multiple problems can result in this heart arrhythmia. But if you have been diagnosed with them, thyroid function should be checked. ~ Elevated LDL: If you have high bad cholesterol (LDL) and low good (HDL), and you are young and relatively healthy, you should have your thyroid checked.

When your wife has bled, screamed, grunted, cried, been put on oxygen, made you hold her unshaven leg for pushing, and had you help her on and off the toilet mu...ltiple times throughout the day and you look at her like this when it’s all over. NFP integrates the entire experience from conception until birth. We remember our children are a gift. Not an entitlement, not a burden, not a status symbol. With NFP, we keep sex within its designed place: as a source of unity AND an act with potential for procreation AND pleasurable. NFP encourages us to view the human body as sacred. Birth does not ruin an object that’s sole purpose is pleasure. The body may change as it brings forth new life, and NFP encourages maturity to adapt to those changes. NFP isn’t just about achieving or avoiding conception. It’s a lifestyle, a discipline, and a way of life that fully integrates sexuality. If you’re lucky, you’ll have someone snap a photo at a moment like this and realize all of the difficult moments are worth it.

During the month of September we remember all babies born sleeping, or we've carried but never met, those we've held but couldn't take home, the ones that came home but didn't stay. In memory of all Babies too perfect for earth . Dedicated to all our Babies May they rest in Peace Amen

MYTH: Women ovulate in response to sexual stimulation. Did you know it was once thought (and taught) that women ovulate in response to sexual stimulation? Why i...n the world would we ever believe this? Well, there was some research conducted on female rabbits, and the findings were applied to women. Rabbits do ovulate in response to sexual stimulation; HOWEVER, HUMANS DO NOT. What does this have to do with me, you ask? Women do not ovulate multiple times in one cycle. Ovulation occurs on only 1 day each cycle. It is possible to have more than 1 ovulation in 24 hours (think twins) but you can not ovulate one week then again the next week. When you track your cycle, you can pinpoint ovulation by observing cervical mucus and temperature shift. Once ovulation is confirmed, you can be confident that you will not ovulate again during that same cycle. #ditchthepill #naturalfamilyplanning #betterhormones #womenshormones #fertilityawareness #fertilitytracking #menstruationmatters #fertilityawarenessmethod #periodproblems #holistichealth #naturalliving #fabm #naturalbirthcontrol #chartyourcycle #holisticliving #research #ovualtionmatters

I have to share something.... an example of a Creighton husband going above and beyond...and I'm honored to say they're clients of mine. A postpartum momma o...f 4 beautiful blessings was tired, overwhelmed, and honestly over the frequent observations necessary for determining fertility with the Creighton Model. And as is typical with little ones at home, she never got to pee alone, so the attention she needed to give to this time was a flustered rush....who else feels this pain with me?! The couple and I discussed how they could tackle this dilemma together to continue to focus on managing their fertility as a couple. At our next follow up, the couple was happy to report, that although not 100% of the time, the husband began to pre-fold his wife's toilet paper and leave it on the back of the toilet for those moments when she was rushing and/or had little to no privacy. THIS.IS.CREIGHTON.LOVE. Hubbies, you may need to get creative, but there is ALWAYS a way to stay connected and manage your fertility as a couple.
