Routine provides structure, which is often lacking during the summer when children all too quickly become detached from the lessons they learned throughout the school year. Maintaining a schedule during the summer supports an environment that is less of a contrast to the classroom and provides a healthy balance between building skills, play and rest. How do you keep a routine with your children during the summer?

Language develops with every interaction you have with your child infants begin by reading their parents’ facial expressions while older children develop their vocabulary by listening and eventually repeating what their parents say. Verbalize your child’s world and he or she will begin to repeat sounds and syllables be sure to pause, speak and alter conversation style.

Did you know laughter can actually lower stress? It’s true. Laughing helps take our mind off of stressors, relaxes our muscles and helps us to connect with our children, families and friends.

Children learn about important values and concepts from watching you. They see the result of practice and perseverance, and they come to know that learning is a lifelong process. They see that everyone, even a grown-up, can make mistakes and can learn from them.
