UGA Honors Program 02.05.2021

Our next Honors Ambassador is Garrett Williams, a third-year Ramsey Honors Scholar from Kansas City, Missouri, studying economics and finance in the Terry College of Business with a minor in communication and a certificate in personal and organizational leadership. In his free time, he enjoys running, the performing arts, and meticulously rating every restaurant in Athens with his roommates. On campus, Garrett is a member of the Corsair Society, the Institute for Leadership ...Advancement, Kickstart Fund, Economics Society, and the Deer Run Fellows Program. This summer he will intern for Bain & Company and hopes to return full time after graduation, with the eventual goal of attending business school to work in corporate strategy. Next up for our new #HonorsUGA Ambassador team is Ciera Thomas, a third-year from Augusta studying microbiology in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, with minors in Spanish, global health, and international affairs. She is passionate about investigating and mitigating the impacts of racial and ethnic disparities on physical and mental health and volunteers for ULead, the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement, and the Mercy Health Center. She has served as the President... Pro Tempore of the SGA Senate and as a Pre-Professional Student Ambassador, and is a member of the Student Health Advisory Committee. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, music, and trying new things. She aspires to a career in health policy to improve marginalized community access to quality healthcare resources and services. Congratulations, Ciera! Introducing the newest class of #HonorsUGA Ambassadors! First up, we have Matthew Li, a first-year studying biochemistry and molecular biology and minoring in Spanish in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Outside of class, he enjoys traveling, car rides with friends, and playing PUBG and Super Smash Bros. UGA Honors Program 13.03.2021

Rising third-year #HonorsUGA students, this is for you! Apply now for the 2021-2022 Crane Leadership Scholarship! The deadline is April 1 at 5 p.m. We're looking for rising third-year Honors students with 1) a 3.7 cumulative GPA or better and 2) strong leadership experience on campus and/or in the local community to apply for this scholarship opportunity, given by the Honors Program and the Center for Leadership and Service. Your application must include 1) an updated Honors... Network profile, 2) updated resume, 3) reference, and 4) written response. The scholarship includes a $1,000 yearly stipend. UGA Honors Program 28.02.2021

Our very own Tripp Koenig earned the Commandant's Trophy, which means he graduated TOP OF HIS CLASS at the U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidate School! Tripp is an Honors senior majoring in finance and international business in the Terry College of Business. He will graduate from UGA on May 13 and commission as a second lieutenant on May 22. In November, he will attend The Basic School in Quantico, and after six months of training, he will be assigned his specialty.
