When it's the dead of winter and there's no heat from your furnace, you might think it's freak-out time. Your first impulse is probably to call an HVAC company and request that they come out ASAP. The reality, however, is that many furnace issues can be resolved with some simple troubleshooting. Many aren't actually "furnace issues" at all. And yes, there are some you can fix yourself. Here's what to do when you've got no heat from your furnace...Continue reading

How Does A Heat Pump Protect Itself From Freezing? You see, your heat pump has a defrost cycle that kicks on when it detects excessive ice buildup. While in the defrost mode, your heat pump essentially operates in the cooling mode and allows heat from the refrigerant to melt the ice away. As this is happening, a backup heating cycle keeps your home warm until the ice has melted away and the heat pump is ready to operate as normal again. If you see clear ice buildup- call us so that we can check it. The white frost should melt away in normal operation. Ice continuing to build is a sign you need a repair. We can take care of that 770-775-5262

When December hits in Georgia the average temperature drops quickly. That’s why it’s so important to think about your HVAC maintenance ahead of time! To make sure that your HVAC system is in top order, you should go through a checklist of things to look for. This will ensure that you’re prepared for that chilly winter season before it touches down. Are you wondering what should be on your HVAC maintenance checklist? Keep reading and we’ll tell you the most important things to... look for. Tend to Air Filters and Ducts As time goes on, your air filters and ducts pick up dirt and dust. This can circulate throughout your home. It’s good practice to clean both of these areas in the fall before turning on the heat. This will get rid of all the dirt and keep your air quality high in your home. While it’s a small step, this can make a big difference. Check the Condenser Unit Before starting up the system, you should head outside to check on the condenser unit. Being outdoors, your unit is exposed to the elements. This means that you should check for dirt or objects like leaves that may have fallen onto it. You should clean around this area to make sure that the unit is free from debris. Keeping it clean will ensure that it performs its best at all times. Attend to Your Furnace Your furnace needs its space inside of your home. You should make sure that the area around it is clean, eliminating any fire hazards. It might also benefit from cleaning inside the unit. This is also a good time to look for broken parts. If you find any, it may be a good time to call us! Look to Your Thermostat The brain of your HVAC system is your thermostat. If it’s not working right, the rest of your system won’t cooperate either. To verify that it’s working, turn it on. Set it so that it will make a noticeable temperature difference. Then listen so that you can hear the system kick in. If you hear it, then it’s probably working. If you don’t, then you might need some HVAC maintenance. Leave It to the Professionals Some HVAC maintenance should be left to the professionals. They need to check the internal parts to verify that everything is in working order. Parts like the coils and fan belts are crucial to how your system works. They should all be looked at and replaced if needed. These are all services that a professional can handle.

We made this post last year, 2019, on this day, and these words speak louder and hit harder now than they do then. We PRAY for everyone to feel safe and secure in this country. We PRAY that the people defending us at home and abroad are safe. We PRAY that we come together as Americans and support one another. That's what these holidays should remind us of. May we all love one another because we are all AMERICANS. ----- 18 years later and the impact of this day in history st...ill hits just as hard. Yes, we will never forget that day. The thousands who died in the attacks and the ones who died helping. We will never forget the images and videos we saw that day and the cries of loved ones. But, we all should remember the next day, September 12, 2001. We should remember how we came together as friends, family, a community and a nation and prayed, mourned and loved TOGETHER. We flew our flags higher, said our prayers louder and banded together because we are AMERICANS. We are prouder than ever to be where we live in this sweet spot of Georgia, in the greatest nation in the world. God bless America.
