This is exactly why massage is so crucial for mental well-being. There are many people who do not receive very much human interaction period, especially not positive physical touch. Massage has aided in the mental healing of survivors of abuse/assault. It can greatly help the elderly, who usually do not receive a lot of positive human touch.
