The apostolic ministry is one of abandonment to God and a personal mandate to transform and reform the sphere of authority to which one is assigned. It is a fun...ction with tremendous responsibility and a call to die. Because we have focused on titles, I wonder at times if the call has become popularized and neutered in the face of individuals seeking a position, not a laying down of our lives. Therefore we ultimately have possibly hindered and maybe even blocked the emergence of true apostles gripped by God’s call. If we study the book of Acts, it is evident that apostles had tremendous impact on the spheres of authority to which they were assigned. One of the reasons for using the title is the claim that it is honor. However I honor, I esteem highly many leaders who have never focused on the title but rather on the function. It was Constantine that ushered in changes which initiated this focus on titles, separating believers into two categories. The ministry and the laity. Everyone has a call to minister. Words, you speak them all the time, Filled with negativism and defeat, Those words create defeat, and make you, Unsuccessful, unhealthy, and unwise. But Words given by God, inspired by His Spirit, Called by men, the Holy Writ, These words heard with the ear of faith, And spoken out of a heart filled with faith, Will create in your life, and your family's too, Success and victory; health and healing; Circumstances and darkness and troubles too, Will run away from you. Filled with His Word, inspired by His Spirit, Make your tongue do its duty. See to it that you speak only truth, His Word is truth.
