We have received some Moderna #COVID19 vaccine doses and are currently scheduling vaccination appointments. In light of the notification this morning regarding pausing the delivery of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine pending the investigation into extremely isolated blood clotting incidents, we are currently reaching out to patients who were already scheduled to receive the J&J Vaccine to confirm switching over to Moderna. We do however have enough vaccine to accept new appointments at this time as well. For those that are concerned or frightened by the stories run recently by our local news outlets regarding the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and reactions that occurred at the Cumming Fairgrounds, we wanted to post the link to the story so that folks had the opportunity to read further detail including information from the Medical Director with the GA Dept of Public Health, as well as the CDC, regarding the environmental conditions that most apparently led to the fainting feeling...s/episodes among the 8 individuals having this response that day. This response was less than 2% of patients vaccinated at the site that day, which is below average for the reactions occurrence rate to all congregate vaccinations. We are always watching and listening, trying to learn what we can every day, and it is critical that we investigate what we read to assess the real value and merit contained. For clarification, the #COVID19 Vaccine is covered for anyone at NO CHARGE REGARDLESS OF INSURANCE COVERAGE, no matter where you get the vaccine (including here at Lake Country Compounding & Wellness). The vaccine we currently have is from Janssen (Johnson & Johnson, single shot regimen), and is authorized for patients 18 and older. We finally received a shipment of COVID vaccine. We have the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson, single shot, viral vector vaccine) vaccine from the GA Dept of Public Health and have begun scheduling immunizations. In spite of what many of you may be feeling right now, we have always chosen you, and we have always tried to give you our very best at every turn. It is with a heavy heart that we make an announcement about the services that are offered with our pharmacy. Due to ever decreasing reimbursement for retail prescription medications, combined with increased cost of operations, we have no choice but to cease providing commercial retail medications after December 2nd. We will continue to provide custom compounded medications, professional grade cbd products, over the counter supplements and nutritional support, as well as exp...anding into billable durable medical equipment, diabetic shoes, and medication consultation services starting in 2021. Our hearts break for what we are losing, but we are also very excited to be able to bring new service offerings to our lake area that are sorely missing and very needed. We have been blessed to work with so many wonderful patients in these past 8 years, and we will sadly miss seeing all of you everyday. However, we hope we will be able to continue working with you through the many options that we will continue providing moving forward. We have always tried to give each of you the very best of ourselves, to help you lead a healthier and happier life. For that we are better people than we were 8 years ago. We will continue offering full service retail and compounding services until December 2nd, and we sincerely hope that you will allow us the privilege of continuing to work with you through the remainder of this time. We will be closed December 3rd for the acquisition transaction, and will reopen with our continued services as described above, on December 4th. We will have a new phone and fax number, as shown in the attached letter, upon reopening after the acquisition is complete.
