Hey McFarland: Pastor Wayne here. This is our challenge from the Scenic South District to gather items for Ishe Anesu mission in Zimbabwe. If you remember, In 2019, I challenged you to provide for 36 buckets. We provided 42. While I haven't yet discussed this with the Church Council, I want to challenge you to do 36 buckets again. When we purchase in bulk from Dollar Tree, Sam's Club, and Wal-Mart, we are able to get the cost to $25 per bucket (if we have to purchase the buck...ets), or $18 per bucket (if the buckets are donated - I.O. and Barbara were able to convince Lowe's to donate buckets/lids in 2019). Either way, since the bulk purchase doesn't necessarily align with 36 buckets (because of differences in bulk packaging), any overages of product and of funds will be donated to the Common Grounds Free Store, an already established ministry of this church that is always in need of personal items like the ones provided in this bucket. We will let you know how to contribute to this effort in the next week or so. Regardless, we will need to finalize the purchase of items by Monday, May 17. We will plan to pack the items on Thursday, May 27, and dedicate them in the worship service on Sunday, May 30. They will then be delivered to Brainerd UMC on June 1st.
