This small ceremony was the chance for our community supporters to get a sneak peek at the new building before we move in after the holidays. Congratulations to Dr. Alan Wells, MUSM associate professor of community medicine, and Dale Wrigley, director of the HOPE Center, whose grant project was selected as a Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS). The SPNS program supports the development of innovative models of HIV care and treatment in order to quickly respond to emerging needs. COMPASS Cares’ HOPE Center is one of 10 sites nationally selected for this award.

We are very proud to announce that Dr. Bryant Smalley and Dr. Jacob Warren were recently awarded a $1,000,000 federal grant to implement a comprehensive prevention, treatment and recovery initiative to combat opioid overdose in a four-county region of rural North Georgia. Congratulations!

Today was an important day in the lives of our medical students, the White Coat Ceremony. The white coat symbolizes their entry into the medical profession and their commitment to uphold their responsibilities as a physician. These amazing students were called to a great and honorable profession. They each have unique and special gifts and they’ve worked hard to get here.
